Bank Verification Guide

How to verify Coopay Ebirr transactions.

Verify.ET is an independent receipt checker. It is not the Coopay-Ebirr app, the *841# USSD menu, or the official receipt.ebirr.com portal. Paste the receipt link from the end of the Coopay Ebirr SMS, or the full SMS, to confirm the payment completed. The Ref number in the SMS is a receipt number and cannot be looked up on its own.

Independent Coopay eBirr receipt checker: confirm a payment from the receipt link in the Coopay SMS.

Who this route is for

Merchants and cashiers accepting Coopay Ebirr PayBill or wallet payments who want them in the same verification workspace as other Ethiopian providers.

What this verification route checks

Verify.ET uses the submitted Coopay Ebirr receipt details to start a traceable verification request. The result popup shows the request status, receipt details, and repeat confirmation signals after the first run.

How to read the result

A successful Coopay Ebirr check returns structured verification status plus available receipt fields such as amount, parties, reference, and timestamps when the provider data is available. Pending means the job is still processing; not found or failed means the details did not resolve to a usable receipt—re-check typing, suffixes, and provider status before releasing goods.

Ref number pasted without the link

The SMS Ref (for example Ref:2800000000) is the receipt number. Verification needs the receipt link at the end of the SMS, or its token.

Kaafi Ebirr link on the Coopay form

Both wallets use receipt.ebirr.com. Coopay links contain /coopay/; Kaafi links contain /kaafimf/ and belong on the Kaafi Ebirr form.

Token case changed

Receipt tokens are case-sensitive. Copy the link exactly instead of retyping it.

How do I check a Coopay eBirr receipt online?

Paste the Coopay Ebirr SMS or its receipt link into this page and submit. Verify.ET returns the status, amount, payer, and merchant details. No account is needed for the check.

Where do I find the Coopay eBirr receipt link?

Coopay Ebirr confirmation SMS messages start with [-EBIRR-COOPay-] and end with a receipt.ebirr.com/coopay/ link. The token is the code at the end of that link.

Can I verify with the Ref number from the SMS?

No. The Ref number is the receipt number printed on the receipt, but the receipt page is only reachable through the link token. Verify.ET still shows the receipt number after verification so you can match it.

Is this the official Coopay or eBirr receipt portal?

No. Verify.ET is an independent receipt checker for businesses. It is not the Coopay-Ebirr app, *841#, or receipt.ebirr.com. It reads the receipt link and confirms the payment for you.

Can API clients verify Coopay Ebirr?

Yes. Send bank "coopayebirr" with referenceNumber set to the receipt link or token, as documented in the Verify.ET API reference.
